Audubon Mural Project

We are pleased to have resumed our twice-monthly Tuesday presentations for the community – albeit online. This program will be a nice change of pace: Log on and join us today for a free, guided tour of the Audubon Mural Project.

A public art initiative of the National Audubon Society, the project commissions artists to paint murals of climate-threatened birds at locations throughout Hamilton Heights and Washington Heights, the neighborhoods in which John James Audubon lived the last ten years of his life. These murals have received national attention.

Leigh Hallingby, a licensed New York City tour guide, will show us a range of paintings, from window-sized panels to a mural covering the whole side of a building. We will also see Audubon’s grave site, and there will be time for questions.
