Short Stories, Long Distance: A Creative Writing Workshop
Short Stories, Long Distance: A Creative Writing Workshop
Thursdays, March 11- April 29, 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM
Join us for a workshop where we’ll look at short works of fiction by authors whose diverse backgrounds inform their writing. We’ll talk about the texts together, with an eye toward the way the stories are structured and how the work elicits different emotions in us as readers. We’ll look closely at what we learn about settings as familiar as Los Angeles, and as distant as rural Botswana. You’ll write stories of your own and have time to receive affirming and constructive feedback from peers. We’ll all walk away feeling emboldened to continue to write, and to tell our own stories through the art of fiction. All levels of experience are welcome; the only requirement is an open heart and mind. Led by Lena King, Candidate for Masters in Creative Writing at The New School
