About Our Presenters:
Victor Khabie, MD, FAAOS, FACS
Dr. Victor Khabie is a member of the Somers Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine Group. He received his medical degree from Harvard Medical School and completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the Hospital for Joint Diseases Orthopaedic Institute in New York. He completed his fellowship in sports medicine at Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic in Los Angeles. He is currently an assistant clinical professor of Orthopedic Surgery at New York University School of Medicine-Hospital for Joint Diseases Orthopaedic Institute and is also the Team Physician for the Pace University Athletic Department.
Dr. Khabie specializes in Knee and Shoulder Reconstructive and Arthroscopic Surgery as well as minimally invasive Sports Medicine Surgery and Robotic Knee Surgery.

Evan Karas, MD, FAAOS
Dr. Evan Karas practices at Northern Westchester Hospital, where he serves as Co-Director of the Orthopedic and Spine Institute and Co-Chief of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery . He holds an academic appointment as Director of Orthopedics, the Mount Sinai Health System at CareMount Medical. He is also a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell, as well as Affiliate Staff of Orthopedic Surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital.
Dr. Evan Karas sees patients at CareMount Medical where he is the Department Head of Orthopedic Surgery.
Dr. Evan Karas is an active member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America. He has published articles in several orthopedic journals, and has presented and served as faculty at orthopedic surgery conferences nationwide. Dr. Karas is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery and has been a Castle Connolly Top Doctor in the New York Metro Area annually since 2006.

Joel Buchalter, MD, FAAOS, FACS
Dr. Joel S. Buchalter is a member of the Somers Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine Group. He uses MAKO, a robot-assisted surgical approach, for full and partial knee replacement. He also specializes in muscle sparing anterior hip replacements.
Dr. Buchalter graduated from the NYU School of Medicine and completed his Orthopedic residency at the NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases (now known as the NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital). He received a bachelor’s of science degree Magna Cum Laude in biomedical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in Troy, NY. He served as chief resident in orthopedic surgery at the NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases; completed a multiple trauma rotation at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, MD; and an internship in general surgery at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York.
Dr. Buchalter also serves as a clinical assistant professor of orthopedic surgery at the NYU School of Medicine. He has served as team physician at Pace University in Pleasantville, NY.

Evan Hawkins, MD
Dr. Evan Hawkins is an orthopedic surgeon at CareMount Medical. He specializes in treating problems of the hip and knee, particularly hip and knee arthritis. Dr. Hawkins completed his medical education at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans and his orthopedic surgery residency at Mount Sinai St. Luke’s- Roosevelt in New York City. This was followed by a fellowship in joint replacement surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital. He specializes in minimally invasive anterior hip replacement, partial knee replacement, revision surgery and robotic assisted hip and knee surgery.
