El Segundo Museum of Art Presents: Matriarchs Art Workshop
Join the El Segundo Museum of Art for a virtual tour and hands-on art workshop of Experience 37: MATRIARCHS, a 2018 exhibit that featured multiple works by 12 contemporary women and two-spirit Indigenous artists representing 14 Indigenous communities from the United States and Central America.
Featured are an array of media including fashion, metalwork, photography, painting, basketry, and video. Together we'll look at two artworks before starting our art activity, using personal symbols to design and draw a garment that tells a story. Led by ESMoA Docent.

The Phoenix Art Museum Presents: Going to the Dogs
Dogs have been muses to artists for thousands of years, from ancient cave dwellings to pop-art installations. Greeks and Romans favored dogs as pets and valued them for their faithfulness and courage, while artists from Picasso to Warhol were fascinated by their beloved pets. Dogs intrigue us, engage us emotionally and are living symbols of protection, loyalty, companionship and unconditional love. We’re going to take a look at how artists have shown their admiration and respect for canines in paintings, drawings, sculptures and photography from the 1st Century B.C. to the present. Led by Carole Kauffman, Docent at the Phoenix Art Museum

This program celebrates the Morgan’s 2018 acquisition of eleven drawings from the Souls Grown Deep Foundation, an organization dedicated to supporting Black Southern artists and their communities. The artists represented in the acquisition are Thornton Dial, Nellie Mae Rowe, Henry Speller, Luster Willis, and Purvis Young. Led Morgan Library & Museum curator Rachel Federman
