Cabaret: A 50th Anniversary Celebration
In early 1972, director/choreographer Bob Fosse unleashed his screen version of the smash Broadway musical Cabaret, and the song-and-dance genre entered the modern age. Using selections from the powerful John Kander-Fred Ebb Broadway score and Christopher Isherwood’s “Goodbye to Berlin” stories, Fosse and his brilliant collaborators (including Liza Minnelli and Joel Grey in Oscar®-winning performances) captured the “divine decadence” of 1931-33 Berlin through the tawdry show business atmosphere of the Kit Kat Club.
