    Virtual Presentation

Join us as we “travel” to new places exploring nature, culture, tourism, and tradition through an artistic lens. We’ll have an opportunity to reflect on travel stories of our own and use newfound inspiration for a guided mixed-media art project each week. Our travel itinerary includes: Egypt, Australia, Ireland, Southeast Asia, Fallingwater at Mill Run, PA, and Ghana. Suggested art supply list will be provided upon registration.

  • Get Lost: How to Write a Travel Memoir

    Virtual Presentation

“A man sets himself the task of portraying the world. Shortly before he dies he discovers that this patient labyrinth of lines is a drawing of his own face” - Jorge Luis Borges

Great travel memoirs map both inner and outer journeys, telling us at least as much about the writer as about the itinerary. Whether you choose to explore a far-flung corner of the globe or a forgotten nook of the city, you will use both memory and imagination to reconstruct the various selves you have been as well as the places you’ve seen. By exploring the virtues of getting lost, the power of wanderlust, and the hidden gift of feeling invisible, you will arrive at some unexpected truths about yourself! Led by Dawn Drzal, author of The Bread and the Knife: A Life in 26 Bites
