Musical Theater is one of the oldest forms of entertainment in America. This two-part presentation will trace the development of musical theater from colonial days to the present. Along the way we’ll discuss the rise and fall of operetta, the development of Broadway as the center of musical theater and the emergence of the American Musical. Led by Gordon Neal Herman, Musicologist, Composer, Pianist.
